JOHN DOWLING INSPIRATION – Quantum Tunnel – The Dom and the Sub is based on a chapter in Dowling’s Novel “Chapters of Love”. While he was walking 8-10 miles a day and living in an RV, Dowling updated the memoirs he had been writing since he was 10 years old. In one of the chapters “The Sub and the Dom”, he shares his experiences from relationships with both submissives and dominatrixes. This multi-exposure composite evokes feelings of both of those experiences. The young man is the sub and the woman the dom. While a very similar version of this composite appears earlier in this collection, the color, additional layers, textures, and engraving is very different in the Dom and the Sub from those in the Sub and the Dom. This is the same composite with a different rendition of the images.
